Dr. R. Lamar Parker

Dr. Parker was raised in Tennessee where he attended Tennessee Technological University graduating magna cum laude with a Bachelors of Science in Chemistry and Biology. He graduated from Wake Forest University School of Medicine in 1982 and completed his Obstetric and Gynecologic residency training at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in 1986. He then joined Lyndhurst Gynecologic Associates where his special interests include infertility, obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound, minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery and women's health clinical research. Dr. Parker is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the departments of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Obstetrical Anesthesia at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine. He has served as the Obstetrics and Gynecology Division Director for Novant Health Triad Region and is Chairperson of the Women's Center Committee of the Sara Lee Center for Women's Health at Forsyth Medical Center. Dr. Parker and his wife, Marilyn have four children, three boys and a girl. He is an active member of the community, volunteering at the Community Care Clinic in Winston-Salem and at Ardmore United Methodist Church. In his free time, Dr. Parker enjoys his family, coaching soccer, water sports and general aviation flying.
